The Keyholder List is a book carried by the Fire Department on emergency calls that contains the names and phone numbers of local people who have access to your house. If there is a medical emergency, or a problem when you are not here, we contact the people on your list and gain access without unnecessary damage or delay. The list also includes your utility companies, such as propane gas, fuel oil, and electric providers so they can be notified if there is a leak or hazardous condition. If the Keyholder List won't work for you, consider a KNOX Box.

If you submitted a keyholder form before 2021, please request another form and update it. We started a voluntary keyholder list several years ago. There have been many property sales and changes since then so our list is not up to date. We need to keep the list current so if there is a problem and you are not here, we can contact a keyholder on your list and gain access to stop the problem.
If you have never submitted a keyholder form and would like to do so, contact us and we will gladly send you one, or download the form. Please bear in mind when completing this form that we need a local keyholder. An out of town son or daughter or friend who sometimes visits and has a key will not help us late at night when there is a problem at your home and no one is around.
For our community members who live here year-round, please consider going one step further and asking your trusted keyholder to check on you daily. Accidents happen, and you might not be able to get to the phone or a door or window. If someone checks on you daily and can't reach you, they can alert emergency personnel before things progress from bad to worse. We have responded to residences and found very dire situations, days too late to help. If the homeowners had this additional safety plan in place, they might have gotten help in time. Please don't let this happen to you-find someone in the general area you trust, or if you are in Sky Valley, have the Sky Valley Police check on you.
Medical emergencies amount to most of the SVSMVFR calls for service and the Keyholder List can expedite firefighter/emr entry into a residence without unnecessary damage or delay.
